Improving the Response to Male Sexual Abuse: A Primer for Communities of Faith
Abstract
This article provides clergy and other faith leaders with important facts about the sexual victimization of boys and men. This includes a discussion of why boys often delay a disclosure of sexual abuse and why boys attending church may be particularly susceptible to sexual abuse. The article also debunks the myth that homosexuals are primarily responsible for the sexual abuse of boys and provides data on how often women sexually abuse boys. The article offers guidance for faith communities in preventing and responding to sexual victimization of boys and men.Downloads
