Abstract

Since Lectionary Year A has readings from Romans throughout the year, preachers and assemblies have a unique opportunity to interact with Paul’s theology and community insights offered in the book that arguably is his magnum opus. This article provides details about the Romans readings, its overarching themes, and a focus on reconciliation in Romans. Paul’s eschatological understanding of the theology of the cross and his astute attentiveness to the social climate in Rome inform the preacher’s approach to proclamation based on Romans texts in Year A.
