Abstract

Preachers may be reluctant to preach on Mark’s version of the empty tomb when John’s version is an alternative for Easter Sunday. After all, Mark doesn’t include a resurrection appearance. However, when we read the entire Markan narrative as a parable, 16:1–8 is a powerful testimony to the resurrection and offers a congregation a new way to experience resurrection in the everyday.
