Abstract

This essay elucidates the meaning of the Eucharist received online based on the experiences lived by the Advent Lutheran Church congregation during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through critical reflection and emplaced knowledge, I encourage an understanding of the Eucharistic sacrament that moves beyond mere participation and its weekly celebration. At the same time, the understanding I advocate distinguishes between narrow and broad perspectives of what, as Christians, we value about the Lord's Supper, especially as a plausible response to parishioners' needs and expectations in these troubled times.
